User-defined custom data fields per set in self-hosted strength trackers (band single/doubled, anchor distance, bench angle), not just a workout-level note
Lifters who self-host their training logs in wger want to record structured data on each individual set, like whether a resistance band is single or doubled, distance from a cable anchor, or bench angle, rather than stuffing it into one free-text note per workout. Per-set reps already work, but there are no user-defined custom fields, and four separate users have asked for set-level or per-exercise annotation over the last six months. The value is logs that actually capture the variables band, cable, and calisthenics lifters need to reproduce a set.
Per-set reps already work (wger combines repeated exercises into set rows), so do not ship another notes box. The gap is user-defined columns per set, like band doubled or anchor distance, which is a small schema and UI feature, not a rewrite.
landscape (2 existing solutions)
wger, the leading FOSS self-hosted strength tracker, logs per-set reps and weight plus workout-level notes, but structured, user-defined per-set fields have no home there. The proprietary cloud apps that come closest are not self-hostable.
